Borges S.A. is a renowned Portuguese winery founded in 1884 by brothers Antonio and Francisco Borges. Although they initially planned a career in banking, they ultimately turned to the tobacco and wine industry. Their brand Lello Vinhos, launched in 1913, is one of the oldest still wine lines from the Douro Valley. Today, the winery produces 5 red wines, 3 white wines, and 1 rosé.
The Gatao line is one of the most famous Portuguese wine brands. The vineyards grow on evergreen hills influenced by the Atlantic breeze, which gives the wine its fresh taste and inviting aroma.
Gatao Vinho Tinto Bordalesa is a red, semi-dry, and light wine with a ruby color. It stands out with aromas of red fruits, strawberries, and currants, along with a delicately sweet and fresh taste with a fruity finish.
The wine has an elegant and modern design – its bottle features a geometric cat illustration, referring to the name "Gatao," which means "cat" in Portuguese.
It pairs perfectly with pizza with aged sausages, pasta in cheese sauce, and blue mold cheeses. Best served at a temperature of 17-19°C.
